I made the runner a week or sew ago. And today I worked on the quilt. It measures 51 inches( 102cm) square.  I used 9 of the 9 patch with a twist blocks ( aka disappearing 9 patch ) in the quilt with two borders. I used a couple charm packs from connecting threads to make this simple little quilt.
I  have the center quilted with curls , now to decided what to do in the borders. I only just started this one after lunch today and had it basted by 4:30 with a  few breaks in between. I hope to get it finished tomorrow sometime between work and yoga.
I see that they have started to advertise the class in the paper. It is set for the new year, sew I wanted to have samples for the folks to see and help them to decide if this is what they would like to try.

Saturday .... the 12 th of November...... and it`s only 6 weeks until Christmas

Now where did the time go. I see that by looking at the calendar I have to get busy. I do not believe that I have not gotten anything ready for the holidays and when you want to make few things you do have to start early. I have seen on Stash Manicure that Madam Sam will be having gifts to make as the theme and this month it is a block party with different blocks each day.... sure is nice to have all these gals at our finger tips. And willing to share sew many ideas. Fiona at   bubzrugz       belongs to a group that makes Christmas items all year long.... smart ladies.
I know that I want to make a few wall hangings and a few candle mats and runners .sew lets see what I can get started at today.

Well I did manage to get this quilt bound and finished this stocking and I have the ones for the babe in waiting, waiting.  Not as much as I had thought but  it is a start sew I will take it.

  I have a couple orders for a baby that will be here shortly after Christmas ... that is if he/she know when the doctor told the parents ....but you know baby's they come when they are ready. I can only go sew far with them as we do not know the name of the wee one that it will be for.I will add a applique with the wee ones name. there will be one this size and the grandparents want the large one that I make for their house.
I also want to make one for a little one that belongs to our nephew and his wife.

the first snow

the first snow of the season
just a dusting sew far

well it had to happen ..... this morning we woke up to snow on the ground , snow in the air.
looks kind of pretty...... that is if you don't get to much. I'm thinking that my kids have a lot more than we do.

Today we take a couple of fiends to the airport in the city , they are off to visit down under . It is spring time there with nice warm temps  25+ and humidity . We wish them a great holiday as they have been planning this one for a long while. They will be meeting a couple that they met over the Internet 5+ years ago.

Not to much sewing happening just a little machine quilting ....having a few issues with thread breakage, but I think I am getting that worked out.
I almost have the last of the 3 runners bound.

Well I will be back to my own schedule ... sort of  sew I may have a little more time and energy to get at things.  I hope.
I have decided that I will pass on any more alterations that come my way,that I did not know about earlier, until I get caught up a bit. I have a couple of friends that said that they would like to be doing this sew I think it will work out fine and I will not feel bad about saying "no".

fall ... hope you linger

It seams like fall has only just begun and it is November already. We have been lucky here no snow signs of winter yet . there has been what I have been calling figments of our imagination floating in the air but that has been it. I'm still riding my bike to work ....wonder how long this will last..a couple weeks or a month I hope.

The kids had a great night for trick and treating . I heard of a little gal that I know who was sick on Halloween sew I made up a couple bags of my leftover goodies and made little totes for them to go into. One for the little gal and one for her little sister. This makes less goodies for me to snack on as well.... sew I was being good to all of us by doing this little deed.

I have made up another little produce bag but I am using it for wool and a crochet hook to leave with my friend  to give her a little project to work on ... we talked about a scarf for the mitten tree that her church puts up before Christmas and then donates to those in need. This idea put a smile on her face sew now I have to get it over to her sew that she can get a start on it even if it is only a stitch here and there. It will give her something to focus on.

I have been quilting a couple runners, one for a class and one for a  pattern that I want to write up.
no pictures just yet maybe in a day or two when they are done they need binding.
I have been getting ready for a class / demo I will be doing at Haus of Stitches a little later this month ( getting a few things together ). I also will be putting a small quilt together for the Jan. class I will be teaching at the community college here in town.

Happy Halloween

Hard to believe that this month has just flown by .
Wishing  all the ghosts and goblins witches and fairies, robots and super hero's a safe   Halloween.

I know that I will be getting at a few holiday projects in the near future as November seams to be gone in a blink of an eye.
 Sew enjoy this evening and the moment and all those little creatures that come a knocking at your door.

I've got mail

Well I had a nice surprise today,( I should say yesterday now ) the package that Marjorie from   Marjorie's Busy Corner       sent arrived today.She had a give away for her first anniversary she had a give away of a moose head lodge panel, thread and a few other goodies. And I was the lucky winner. This is the first time that I have won a give away , feel just like a kid.
Thank you sew much for the panel It will get worked up into a fall themed quilt one the guys might like.( I hope ) I have already planned a few alternate blocks in my head to go with this panel. And the other goodies I will find ways to use them too.

Halloween socks

I also had a little package show up at work . A little something from my prayer partner from church, to celebrate Halloween.

Last night I went to visit a good friend that is in respite care. We had a nice visit and walked around a couple times. We are trying to help her get a little stronger .  I hope she starts to fell better soon even just a little bit. She has had a few dizzy spells that cause her to faint, and we do not want her to hurt herself in a fall. Sew she has not been able to do the things she loves to do and this is making her feel sew lost and confused right now.  Sew I will be popping by to see her there and give all the support I can.
