come with me my pretty...... hehehe |
Sew much talent out there being shared with us.
We are ever thankful for Mdm Samm and our cheerleader Wicked Wendy and of course the sponsors
( Windham Fabrics, Reliable Irons and Bird Brain Designs) too, with the treats that will be given at the end of the hop.
perfect for the doorstep |
First off I picked up a new pair of shoes for my daughter
just perfect for the season and any yard work too.
This year I thought I would make a garden flag .... it might not make it there as we might be getting more snow this week....brrrrr
Time to start stirring up the cauldron to see what I can get a brewing.......
Lets put a dash of Bat Wings and a slice of moon beam
a haunted house with a grave yard
the creaking of an open door and an old tree near by
and of course a hoot or screech of the owl that lives in that tree
and in a spooky tree a little owl to add to the sounds of the night......
and with that all a brewing
I thought they needed someone to keep them on the right track for this Hallow season. A little witch that I think we shall call Wendy ...she is about 7 inches tall when she is out riding her broom.
Sew this is what came out of the cauldron for Wicked this season.
one of my other finishes would be the D9P that I had only gotten the top made last year
and as of writing this post I am only on spider web #4 block....... another ufo for next year.
Now time for a treat.
I have picked up an extra panel of Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin for a give away this Halloween season.
Leave me a note telling me of your favorite treat or costume from Halloween's past and if you do not celebrate Halloween a favorite memory of fall. I will do the draw on All Hallows Eve October 31.
I will try to get back to each comment but know that I will read each and every one and you all will be ion the draw.

My only "real" costume was one I had in second grade...Woody Woodpecker! Other than that one everyone I knew went as a hobo with ratty old clothes and burnt cork on our faces!!
ReplyDeletemy son's bday is the 30th and it was always a blast if we partied on Halloween. fave costume? I have sooooo many, Elizabeth Bennett, the golden years, pirate queen Una Chica Loca, colonial barmaid.....thay are all special in their own way
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting you did in the sky, it's spooky! It looks like clouds are rolling across the moon, and is just too cool. My favorite costume for probably 9 years in a row was my cat costume, just clip on ears and tail, paint a nose and whiskers, wear all black and off you go!
ReplyDeleteGreat wicked quilts! My favorite costume is the one I made for my daughter when she was 8+ months preggy. She was a pumpkin! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHello Annette, We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, but I do have a Halloween story for you. Way back in Never Never Time, when I was just 19, I set off on the obligatory world tour, arriving at my first stop, San Fransisco, around 8pm on the 31st October. As the car headed from the airport, I kept seeing these people all dressed up as witches and ghouls. At first I just thought I had stumbled on some people going to a party, but there were more and more of these people and they were everywhere! I thought perhaps I was in loony land, until I finally found out it was Halloween. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your withches both the doll and on the quilt. And you quilt is so wicked and the shoes, what more could I say. I live in Sweden and as we don´t have so much of Halloween in spite of several efforts from the shops to sell Halloween stuffs. The best with the fall is that you could fill the living room with candles and enjoying being inside and have it cozy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your creativity and being part of this hop
Ooooooh Anette! I am loving the shoes! Perfectly pretty with just a dash of freaky! The haunted quilt is amazing! Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery cute hanging. I love it! Those shoes are pretty cool. I love seeing all the creative costumes people come up with. Homemade costumes are the best.
ReplyDeleteAnnette , your work is lovely. We were too poor to have costumes growing up but I did enjoy the treats teachers gave us. Candy corn was my favorite
ReplyDeleteOh Annette, your wallhanging if fabulous! I love all the different spooky elements. Great Job! My favourite costume was when I was exhausted taking care of my three little guys so I decided to be Super Mommy that year as a pick-me-up. :) Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used buttons to make those bats! Great idea! Love all your projects!! Thanks for sharing in the hop! My favorite treat is chocolate (I know, very simple but necessary for my small bit of heaven!!)
ReplyDeleteVery nice piece Annette!! I loved getting fudge when I was trick'rtreating

ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little quilt, Annette! Wicked Wendy is pretty great, too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume from the past? When I was about 7 my daddy painted a skeleton on an old sheet that he draped over my head. He cut eyes out so I could see. it was special because my daddy made it for me!
Hocus pocus you have me in a wicked spell...I am HAUNTED by the BEAUTY of your creations...
ReplyDeleteLove your Wicked Wendy! blessings, marlene

ReplyDeletewendy does look wicked...very wicked cute
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Congrats for being in the top! Spook-tabulous! When I was in high school, my sister and mom wrapped me in strips of sheets to be a mummy. I had to lie down in the backseat of the car to get to the church youth party. No one figured out who I was--too funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project! I love it!!! After trick or treating, I always traded with my brothers for the crunch bars and the milky ways :)
ReplyDeleteI love your wallhanging!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite treat are the chocolate eggs filled with green slime!!!
Thanks for sharing!
I like each and every one of your projects and am so glad you shared them all. I love the Great Pumpkin Patch so hope i WIN this great giveaway. My favorite Halloween costume is me in my trench coat (and nothing else) and a paper bag over my head, slipping out my backdoor and running to the front door, knocking and when my husband answered it, I opened the trench coat! It took him by such surprise he started staggering back, fell over the footstool and broke his ankle. To this day, 45 years and a divorce later) he has never mentioned what happened (and neither have I), his story is he tripped over the footstool while getting up to change channel on TV
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I love Lindor milk chocolate truffles.
ReplyDeleteI sew love it. Very creative. Thanks for sharing. I think Butterfingers are my favorite treat so that is what I give out for Halloween .
ReplyDeleteI love the little owl sitting in the tree, great sewing. My favourite thing to eat which we make every year are spiderweb cakes, chocolate cakes covered in white chocolate and spiderwebs drawn with dark melted chocolate. Thanks for a fun giveaway.
ReplyDeleteks(dot)eyles(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk
Great projects, as usual, Annette. Love the shoes. Love the little mini chocolate bars.....
ReplyDeleteAnnette your quilt with the house, tree and owl is wonderful!!! I like those shoes too, lol. I suppose a Halloween memory for me is that 6 years ago my daughter was in labor on Halloween. The nurses were dressed up that night. We wondered if she was going to give birth on Halloween, but she didn't as my grandson was born on Nov. 1 and will be having his 6th birthday this Friday.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, your wall hanging is adorable !
ReplyDeleteAnnette-Love your Halloween projects. My sister and I will be going to the Charles Schultz Museum for a visit next Wednesday. It's great being so close to it. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteAnnette-Love your Halloween projects. My sister and I plan to visit the Charles Schultz Museum next week. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the spooky house and the tree with the owl. Our favorite costumes were when the six of us dressed in Star Trek uniforms. I put that picture out each year with my decorations.
ReplyDeleteDH and I love to hand out the candy on Halloween night. The little goblins are so cute!
ReplyDeleteOur Halloween tradition is getting fried chicken for dinner. It is silly but fun. This year my husband is traveling for work so I am hoping for a fried chicken rain check!
ReplyDeleteLove your wall hanging. Also love the shoes. And Wendy is so cute watching over everything. My favorite treat is Reese's peanut butter cups. I know not very exciting, but after reading Jeanne Gwin's post I forgot what I was going to post. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour small quilt is GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your project - they are great. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteUnique is the word that comes to mind and oh sew wicked.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! Love them all. I still enjoy walking my kids around the neighborhood on Halloween night. I have about two years left before they last one gets too old.
ReplyDeleteMy fav memory is of my DD wearing a Lion's costume and riding a tricycle. Somehow she kept running over the tail and we had to pin it too her back She swore it hurt when she ran over it. LOL Great project. Love every single detail about it.
ReplyDeleteGreat creativity.... I was up late last night peeking at your site.
ReplyDeleteAll of your projects are so wickedly good! Absolutely love your creaky house by the cemetery. The owl just completes it perfectly. My favorite treat is mini Kit Kat bars, just the right size to keep by the sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to select one costume:) One year the girls were butterflys. For the basic costume I made a night gown and a pair of pajamas in the color of their choice. We made the wings out of cardboard which the girls then painted. It was so funny when they went trick or treating because the wings were so big the girls kept running into mail boxes. ReplyDeleteNice projects. Favorite costom: Witch. Favorite treat: chocolate candy bars. Favorite fall memory: collecting and looking at the pretty leaves, and collecting horseshoe chesnuts. Happy Halloween! 24Tangent@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteVery fun Annette! That turned out so well. My favorite costume was a princess :).
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Annette! You did a great job on your wall hanging. Wherever did you find those shoes for the doorstop! Memory of Halloween? Well, my parents did not allow us to go trick or treating but when we were little we did get on the costumes and passed out treats to others. When I was older we trick or treated for UNICEF. I didn't feel like we missed out.
ReplyDeleteYour hanging is just wickedly wonderful! I used to love it when we got caramel apples and pop corn balls...of course that was many decades ago when you could trust the people in your neighborhood. Thanks for the giveaway and for sharing your hanging!
ReplyDeleteLove it! the little owl is so cute!
ReplyDelete:) Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation
Love your project. I like to decorate for Halloween, but we rarely do anything special for Halloween. So the best part of fall is the changing colors.
ReplyDeletelovely work thank for sharing! my fav costume was a princess
ReplyDeleteWow , I love your creation , very wicked indeed ! My favorite costume was a little old lady , I know not all that imaginative but it was fun at the time with my crooked stick as a cane ;-) thanks for sharing your talent . As always wonderful !
ReplyDeleteNice green shoes! Great projects.
ReplyDeleteI love your Halloween banner. It was fun to scroll past the pictures of the bats, because it made them look like they were flying as I scrolled up and down over them. I'm not too creative in the Halloween costume department, but I admired others who are.
ReplyDeleteYour work is so cute!.
ReplyDeleteI dress up almost every year....I loved being Rose from Titanic...it was easy since I have the red hair!
Thanks for the give away.
Your work is so cute! The owl and witches shoes, neat!
ReplyDeleteOne year I was Rose from the Titanic. I was hit at the parties...the movie was so popular. It was easy since I already have red hair!
Many years ago my husband and I were at a party with friends. She was in a french maid costume (very cute) and he was dressed as a priest. There was a bathroom with a very heavy door that opened outward. As we were walking toward it someone came out and the door hit my friend in the head knocking her out. She came to and tried to get up only to pass out again. We called 911. When the ambulance came her boyfriend rode in the back with her while we followed behind in our car. Upon arriving at the hospital as "the priest" was exiting the back of the ambulance we heard a lady exclaim Oh, this one is bad!" Our friend was fine and we all enjoyed a good laugh later. Happy Halloween! Congrats on most creative! It is well deserved indeed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being in the wickedly top group today! Great job.
ReplyDeleteReally cute wall hanging...thanks for sharing. One costume I remember wearing was as a bubble gum machine: I filled a huge plastic bag with small blown up balloons and had friends stick the balloons all around me. It was a great costume as long as you didn't sit down, and don't even try to drive in a car in it!!
ReplyDeleteSpooktacular...display of creativity...love the owl on your garden flag and the haunted house..wicked!! Congratulations on the top honor today. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe shoes are the epitome of the season. I was looking at the pictures of your wall hanging/table runner. I absolutely gasped with delight when I saw the owl. The goodies just coming and coming. It is stunning. Then Wendy takes the cake.
ReplyDeleteWe did celebrate Halloween and it has never been a big deal. It was all fun for us. I don't remember associating it with evil in any fashion. The only costume I even remember is my mother made me a majorette uniform one year. It was purple with gold trim on the top. Of course, I had to wear it again the next year. Other than that, we just put on someone's old clothes, a hat, and a mask and off we went.
Thanks for participating and sharing your amazing creativity. You are a great inspiration.
Your piece is just wonderful and so is your little story. My son is a huge Snoopy fan so the panel would be snatched up fast here. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteLovely little garden flag, and the witch is too cute. Great projects.
ReplyDeleteLove the little quilt. The owl is so special. My Halloween quilt from last year is still a flimsy, so you are ahead of me. We have a little girl, 4 or 5, come every year for treats. Two years ago she was a ballerina and left pink sparkles every where she went, last year she was a green frog and left green sparkles. If the light is right, you can still occasionally see some in the carpet even after all the vaccuming that has been done. Just wonder what color sparkles we will get this year.
ReplyDeleteYour wall hanging is amazing!!! So cute... Love Charlie Brown and Snoopy, they go way back to my childhood. Thank you for sharing..
ReplyDeleteYour witch is so cute!! I love your wall hanging!!
ReplyDeletelol You know that it's Halloween and it's a bewitching time which is probably why those pictures are appearing helter-skelter!! Wonderful quilt and Wendy probably loves to see 'her house' on the wall. Great work!
ReplyDeleteDrat those blogspot goblins that like to play with pictures! ;-) I love your garden flag and your little witch is divine! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteLove that wall-hanging. The little owl is wickedly perfect!
