Winter one week heat wave the next

.... only in Saskatchewan.  Probably not, just some crazy weather happening all over.

Life has been busy as it is for most of us. Our little Sit n Stitch group have been making quilts for Ronald McDonald house, the neonatal unit at RUH in Saskatoon.  Quilted hugs and wheelchair quilts for our local nursing home, a number of different items for the daycare as well as pet beds for rescue centers for cats and dogs, and of course quilts for Victoria quilts Canada. Who knew we would get this busy. Now we are taking the summer off and will restart in September. Time for gardens, sunshine and beaches and our families too.

I will be working on a few quilts

for Victoria quilts,  some just finishing other from piecing to finishing. I like to keep my hands busy.

Once in a while I get to work on a project for myself. I have to top done from a pattern  gifted to me for Christmas a couple years ago. I used a fat quarter bundle call Papillon by 3 sisters for moda fabrics. It was part of a prized bundle from Quilt Design Stars challenge hosted by McCalls quilt magazine  on 2012. Time to get it used . I have had a lot of compliments of the colors in it and those I added. They have created a large and lovely quilt top. 100 in. x 110 in. . Now to decide how I want to quilt it or if it might gi to a longer quilter.

A couple weeks ago I was helping a younger  newer quilter, finish a quilt top we started a couple years ago. She did a great job. I look forward to seeing it quilted.

We had an interesting visitor where we have grape jelly out for the Orioles.

Sew that is what has been going on here. I hope you all are having a nice spring or fall depending on where you are living.

Stay in stitches
