October 1 where did you come from

Can we hang on to September just a little longer......
How dose time fly sew fast. As a kid it took forever for our birthdays, Christmas , summer holidays etc. to come and now that we have grown up some they have taken on wings .
Is it that we fill our days to full and can  not get everything done that we thought we should. I guess we will never really know , we just have to deal with it.
But now that October is here there are many things we can plan for. Fall suppers(fowl suppers) in many small communities, Thanksgiving and time spent with our families and of course Halloween. Have you noticed they all have food mixed in with them in one form or another.
One thing is for sure that with the cooler temps of fall we tend to get a littler busier with out quilting as it reminds up that Christmas is only a few months away. You gals that do the Xmas every month group are sew smart. I will have to try that next year.
Well I am off to the sewing machine my dead line is getting close ... less that a week to get - r - done
in stitches until next time

new font

Hello out there. It was suggested that maybe I try a different font to make it easy on the eyes.
And that makes perfect sense the one I had tried at first was a fun looking,.
When I look back at it, it just might be a little hard to read. Sew thank you for letting me know.
I do want everyone who comes to visit to have a good time and be able to understand what I am talking about.( I am pretty easy to get along with )
Lets see how this one works for now.
Sew until next time stay in stitches and seams  ( I have tried a different font  really I have tried but I am not sure if it is going to take ..... but I have tried a few times and by George I think I have got it)

Tuesday Tidbits #2

thread catcher
Today's tidbit is found in your scrap bag of batting.

I will use a small scrap of batting near my machine to hold lose threads that I have clipped off. It also works well to grab dust bunnies (polar fleece works great as well)

This little thread catcher is also nice to have around when doing hand work to grab those stray threads. I have seen one done up like a little book ( might have been on stash manicure or in a Fons and Porter mag), here I have used a charm square -5 inches and a 4 inch piece of batting.

I also will use another to catch the dust bunnies that live in my machine. They grab them with just a light rub or swipe to the inside of your bobbin holder .
And speaking of dust bunnies Another great tool to grab them by their fuzzy little ears  comes from the cosmetics department

invasion of dust bunny's
sorry for the fuzzy pic

the eyeshadow brush can catch the ones hiding inside
the capture with the blush brush
and then you are left wth this
just a handful of dust bunnies.
Special note .... no bunnies were harmed in the making of this blog

Sew dust bunnies beware, a sewing machine is not a safe place to hide.

Well that's my tidbit for today I am going to go and have some breakfast out on the patio this morning , mom's still sleeping sew she will miss this early fall morning but she will enjoy the day when she rises
sew stay in stitches and have a  dust bunny free day( and machine)
